We are on a mission to make life easier for people with diabetes by creating a handheld device that tests the effectiveness of insulin.

For many, insulin is a life-sustaining drug, but it's also a delicate protein that is highly sensitive to environmental factors like heat and agitation. When insulin degrades, it loses its effectiveness, leading to unexpected blood sugar spikes, stress, and serious health risks.

During our research at Cal Poly and UCSD, we heard countless stories of people who had unknowingly used compromised insulin, leading to hospitalizations and immense frustration. The problem is widespread, and right now, there is no reliable way for a patient to determine if their insulin is still effective before they test it on themselves.

The founder team has the right blend of technical and business expertise. Oliver Haas (CEO), Ethan Vosburg (CTO), and Micaela Moreira (CSO) provide Preserva with a strong foundation to build and scale a successful company. We are also incredibly fortunate to have the guidance of two exceptional advisors: Sean Saint, the CEO of Beta Bionics, and Peter Falzon, the CEO of Ripple Science.

Our mission is to simplify insulin management, giving you the peace of mind that comes from trusting your medication. We believe that everyone dependent on insulin deserves to trust their medication.
